About

Play therapy offers a powerful space for children to express themselves, heal, and grow. However, without cultural humility, therapists risk imposing stereotypes or misinterpreting a child's play and experiences. This interactive workshop will explore how play therapists can integrate cultural humility into their practice while avoiding the pitfalls of stereotyping. Participants will gain practical skills for recognizing their own biases, fostering culturally affirming play therapy sessions, and honoring the unique narratives of each child and family. Through experiential activities, and research-based strategies, this training will equip clinicians with tools to create a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment that values each child's authentic cultural identity.
