About

Join Val Bruno, LPC, RPT-S, to explore the innovative approach of incorporating geek culture into play therapy to better meet the needs of neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other neurodivergent presentations. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the challenges faced by neurodivergent clients and the role of geek play in therapy. Through real-world examples and case studies, attendees will learn practical strategies and techniques for integrating geek culture into therapy sessions, creating a safe and engaging environment for clients to explore their interests and develop essential skills. Ethical considerations and challenges in working with neurodivergent clients in geek play therapy settings will also be discussed, along with potential future directions and research opportunities in the field.
